NEW MEMBERS

If you would like to become a member of The Smycms for a future production, please complete our member audition form below or send an e-mail with your details to smycms@gmail.com and a member of the committee will contact you about auditioning to join the company.  All that is required, is to sing a song of your choosing, preferably a song that you know and that is suited to your vocal range. There is no point in singing a show stopper if you can’t hit the high or low notes. Bring along the sheet music and our Rehearsal Pianist will accompany you, or if you prefer to use a backing track then that is fine. The most important thing is that you feel relaxed and comfortable at the audition so that you can sing at your best. Please read The Smycms Constitution and rules before auditioning. Although The Smycms is primarily a Musical Theatre Company that stages a Musical every year at the Church Hill Theatre in Edinburgh, not only do we aim to attract singers but we are always in need of dancers (male or female) as many of the shows that we produce have lots of big dance numbers covering all types of dance and movement, from Tap to Jazz and traditional, depending on what the choreographer wants.

Our next production is our concert “A Night At The Musicals” in November 2011 which is mainly singing but will have several choreographed numbers included so most people on stage will be expected to Dance/Move at some point in the proceedings. 

Our main Production “Seven Brides For Seven Brothers” will be staged 17th to 21st April 2012 with rehearsals starting late October 2011.
