A great choice for a show. Word reached me on the grapevine now I’m no longer on Facebook!

From the co-composer of the musical ‘Smike’.
    Dear Sirs,
I have composed a cracking musical adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ with 20 very catchy songs that has received a rapturous response from the 3 ‘test’ productions we staged in preparing the show.
However, this business is awash with dozens of excellent new musicals, many of which will, sadly, never see the light of day.
In order to get mine out there and noticed, I’m offering a limited number of societies FREE PERFORMANCE LICENCES for a limited period.
If you are interested in looking into my offer further, please email me on Holman60@aol.com and I will gladly furbish you with all the extensive detail you would require.
I very much look forward to hearing from you.
    Kind regards.
Roger Holman – co-composer of the musical ‘Smike’.

  3. Im truly enjoying the design and layout within your blog. Its a simple about the eyes so that it is a lot more enjoyable so that i can come here and visit often. Have you hire out a designer to develop your theme? Great work!

Very sorry to read on Facebook about your problems with Seven Brides. Our neighbouring company Markinch AOS (of which I am also a member) have had similar problems with The Merry Widow of Bluegum Creek. Thankfully, they have managed to switch show and will be doing The Sound of Music. (I’m not providing dates because I don’t want this to look like a plug).

May I wish you all the best with your concert and please feel free to remind me nearer the time and I’ll happily publicise the show for you at our rehearsals.

    • Thanks for your concern and good wishes but its a sign of the times I think, younger people don’t seem to want to join an amateur company they want instant success, I blame the X-factor. We’ve had difficulty getting members over the last 2 years, Edinburgh has probably too many companies and too few performers to go around. Let me know the dates and i’ll put them on our page as i’m sure you will agree that amateur companies should help each other whenever they can. Hope The Sound Of Music is a success, and happy to promote.

I would be really interested in joining smycms. I have been involved in musical theatre since I was a little kid back home in ireland and have been on the lookout for a theatre group to join here in Edinburgh.
