Get wise and Advertise.

tit willow, tit willow, tit willow.

Just received the winter/spring 2013 edition of Sardines, a magazine dedicated to promoting amateur theatre in the UK, and it is full of interesting articles and reviews. It also has a show guide where amateur societies can place an unlimited number  of free entries advertising up coming shows, sadly it seems that it hasn’t quite caught on in Scotland. As you look through the English Regions you see they are full of shows that local theatre companies are staging, but when you get to Scotland it is a different story as almost 95% of entries are for the Scottish Community Drama Association festivals of one act plays throughout Scotland.  There is a distinct lack of Amateur Societies promoting their shows in Scotland which is quite sad as societies should be using every avenue to promote their shows to the world especially when it is free.

The deadline for entries to the Show Guide for inclusion in the next issue of Sardines Magazine is April 12th 2013. Once you set up a directory profile for your society at www.sardinesmagazine.co.uk then it is easy to post info and dates for your next production. Get wise and advertise.
