Simpol Staging celebrates!

Congratulations from The Smycms to Simpol Staging on reaching their 10th anniversary. On Saturday night Simon and Paul celebrated in style with a party at Watsonians Rugby club, Myreside, attended by their many friends from the various groups that Simpol have staged productions for over the last decade. With music provided by the excellent band, Hip Operation, the evening was soon rocking. The traditional half time entertainment saw a welcome return of that effervescent duo of Marion and Maud, two ladies from Morningside, with some old and new material they soon had the room laughing loudly, mostly at the expense of Simon and Paul and all the Edinburgh Am Dram groups, fab-u-lous dahlings. The evening was topped off when Gordon T Blackburn, Noda Scotland, presented Simon and Paul with their 20 year long service awards. Well done and here’s to the next 10 years.
The Smycms have been involved with Simpol since 2004 when they staged our production of My Fair Lady, they brought a proffesional approach to amateur theatre and as such we have been fortunate to have their services for all of our productions since then and are happy that they will be involved in our next production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Simon has a long association with The Smycms since he appeared as Hank in our 1993 show, Calamity Jane.
